Dress Up Your Hair

Are you getting a little bored with your hair? Not sure if you want a new cut or color? Well if you are unsure with exactly what you want, then maybe now isn't the time for a big change. Instead start to play around with your hair, dressing it up with different hair accessories. At the 2011 NYC fashion week barrettes were a huge trend. Barrettes are a fun way to dress up any outfit and can add a little flash of color to your hair. Have fun and don't be afraid to play around, there are no rules with this fun look.

2011 NYC Fashion Week

2011 New York City Fashion Week just ended with lots of exciting trends in hair. Out with the shine serums and sprays and in with the matte texture pastes and sprays. Natural texture and volume are taking over the flatiron smooth hair look, which couldn't come at a better time. After the summer months of chlorine pools, beach sun and the hot heat, we all know that our hair could use a little break from the heat tools. One great way to bring out natural texture is to wash hair at night, let hair air dry 75% and then pull hair into a high bun or into two side braids. In the morning untie your hair, spray a little dry shampoo into the roots (this will help add volume and also dry up any shine left in your hair), and apply some matte paste or pomades to the ends of your hair.

My New Must Have

Osis Dust It is my new favorite must have product of the moment. It works by adding volume to already dry hair. Simply sprinkle some Dust It on your roots after drying, flat ironing or curling your hair, then rub into the roots. The outcome it major volume that you can play around with and smooth down. The compact size also makes it ideal for your purse or clutch. Everyone must try this amazing product!!

Summer Braids

Braids are hot this summer, everyone from celebrities to models on the runway are sporting the hot new look. It's a simple way to update your look from day to night with little effort. The key to this look is by keeping the braid messy. Simply braid the hair in a loose manner and attach the end of the hair with a rubber band. Start to spread out the the braid and pull some lose strands out. Have fun playing around with this hot summer look!
