Lauren Elaine Fun Fashion FW2011 Shoot!

Today I helped do hair for Lauren Elaine Black Label FW2011 photo shoot. I can't share any of the images of clothing or hair just yet (because the promo video isn't released yet), but I can share with you some behind the scenes images from my i-pone. The shoot took place in a antique warehouse which had amazing furniture to go along with the clothing.

Lauren Elaine FW2011 Promo Video Ideas

Tomorrow I'm 1 of 2 hairstylist doing hair for Lauren Elaine FW2011 Black Label Promo Video. She is an amazing designer and you can all check out her clothing at: www.lauren-elainedesigns.com. A couple of the inspirations for the shoot are Marie Antoinette Masked Ball and Phantom of the Opera with a modern twist. Lauren has amazing images and inspiration ideas for the shoot, so in doing my part (research) I came across some beautiful images and I wanted to share them with everyone. The last two Images are from Dior.

Pastel Hair Color For Spring/Summer

Pastel hair color can look really beautiful and feminine without looking like an 80's punk rocker! People think that you have to dye your hair with typical hair color to achieve this look, but really all you need is a colored conditioner. This look will only last a shampoo or two but it can help you decide if you would want the look more permanent. This look works best on lighter hair as the pastel color will show up better. I love Davines Alchemic Conditioner in red or golden. Shampoo the hair as you do normally then apply the desired color conditioner and leave on the hair for 5 minutes. Rinse and enjoy the look. Also remember that you don't have to apply the color conditioner all over, you can apply just to the desired area (ends, front sections, etc...).

For All You Men Out There

Sorry for all you men out there, but this one is for you guys!! Here are a few styles that are really popular right now. Forget the fohawk cut that everyone and there grandpa's had, but rather go a little modern and a little less trendy.

Happy Valentines Day!

Do you need an easy valentines hairstyle??? I love the messy buns that everyone has been wearing, and it's super easy to do. All you have to do is pull all your hair to the top of your head and secure with a rubber band. Next twist the hair and wrap it around the rubber band and secure the hair with bobby pins! Remember to keep it messy.

Ombre

Ombre hair color has been really big now for a few months, and it looks like it is here to stay! I love love love the low maintenance of ombre color because usually only the mid lengths and ends get colored. Enjoy!!

Maxi Wash

Kevin Murphy's Maxi Wash is so amazing!! Maxi Wash is a mild shampoo that helps remove product buildup without stripping color or natural oils. Clients often say that they like to switch what shampoo they use because they fill their hair gets use to one shampoo. The truth behind this is that for 1: your hair can't get use to shampoo or any product for that matter, 2: The true problem is that hair gets product build up and most shampoos don't remove the build up, but rather contributes to the problem. A lot of shampoos have wax or silicone in the ingredients which will make your hair look amazing for the first few weeks, but once that wax or silicone builds up too much the hair will begin to look dull and flat. The only way to remove this buildup is with a shampoo like Maxi Wash. Use Maxi Wash once a week to insure that your hair will look amazing!

Model Jill De Jong and Three Dots Clothing

Here is the beautiful supermodel named Jill De Jong. Jill was the model on the Three Dots Fall 2011 look book photo shoot that took place at Siren Studios in Hollywood. I was honored to have been selected to do her hair for the 32 looks that were shot that day. It was a great team of people and the energy was fun with lots of laughter!! Jill has to be one of the sweetest models that I have ever worked with, so it made the day fly by. Once I get some images from the shoot I will upload them for all of you to see! My New Love

My new love and obsession is this product by Kevin Murphy called Body.Builder Mousse. AMAZING!! Body.Builder is a volumizing mousse that also acts as an leave in conditioner. This isn't like regular mousse that get hard and crunchy but rather it smooths and also will detangle the hair. I tried it on my hair the other day and then styled loose curls in my hair with small tongs, the curls have stayed for three days. Not only did they stay but they were soft bouncy curls!!!! Body.Builder will work on all hair types from thick to thin, curly to straight.
